Vickers Virginia X

In service from September 1935 to April 1937

Vickers Virginia X specifications and other notes

The Virginia was a very large and notably unattractive biplane with a mediocre performance.

It was in service for 13 years as the RAF's heavy night bomber, until 1937.

The later model Mk.VII was given additional wing sweepback to correct a problem with its center of gravity.

The last model, the Mk.X was an all-metal construction. 124 were built, and the last were retired from service in 1941.
